From July 16-18, Fraunhofer CSE participated in Intersolar North America 2015 in San Francisco, CA. Drawing over 18,000 attendees, the 2015 Intersolar exhibition and conference focused on the areas of photovoltaics, PV production technologies, energy storage, and solar thermal technologies.

Fraunhofer CSE teamed up with Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy ISE and CFV Solar Test Laboratory to host a booth in the main Intersolar exhibition hall. Fraunhofer CSE representatives were on hand throughout the conference to network with exhibition attendees and promote the various services and capabilities offered by Fraunhofer CSE. As part of the 2015 booth, special displays highlighted Fraunhofer CSE’s PV outdoor testing facilities and services and the Fraunhofer CSE Plug & Play PV Systems.

During the main conference program, Fraunhofer CSE Grid Integration Lead, Matt Kromer, presented as part of a special conference focus on electrical energy systems. His talk, A Scalable Approach for Integrating Residential-scale Solar PV, Energy Storage, and Smart Appliances, presented a vision for a deeply-integrated, customer-centric approach to deploy integrated residential PV and storage solutions at a massive scale. This framework  addresses key pain points for utilities and consumers by reducing installation costs and complexity, protecting consumer privacy and quality of service, and transparently integrating with utility operations.
