In August a group of congressional staff members from Washington D.C. visited Fraunhofer CSE as part of a multi-day, energy efficiency-focused visit to Boston. The trip was organized by the Alliance to Save Energy, a non-profit organization that focuses on advancing energy productivity at the federal, state and local levels.

The group toured the Fraunhofer CSE living laboratory and listened to presentations on some of the Center’s core focus areas: Building Enclosures and Materials, Building Energy Management, and Grid Integration. The tour highlighted Fraunhofer CSE’s recent live demonstration of the U.S. Department of Energy-funded Plug and Play PV systems and introduced the congressional staff and Alliance members to CSE-manufactured solar cells from the pilot solar module fabrication line.
