In just under two weeks, we’ll be kicking off the Global Cleantech Meet-up at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. This unique event runs from October 15th – 18th, and is jointly organized by Fraunhofer CSE and our friends at the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC), the Massachusetts Technology Transfer Center (MTTC), and the New England Clean Energy Council (NECEC).
Unlike other industry events, the Meet-up focuses on forging new connections, finding new business partners, and sharing new innovations, rather than large conferences and panel talks. In developing this conference, we’ve aimed for a more personal setting, one with plenty of opportunities to network with cleantech entrepreneurs, established business leaders, major energy consumers, and global corporations looking for partners to help them meet energy and sustainability goals.
Over fifty companies and organizations are involved in the event, including Dow Ventures, Lockheed Martin, National Grid, NSTAR and Kleiner Perkins. They are joined by some of Boston’s most promising clean energy start-ups; among the presenters are TechBridge portfolio companies Dynamo Micropower, Ubiquitous Energy and WegoWise, who had been previously selected to receive grants of in-kind services from Fraunhofer CSE and its partners on the strength of their technology concepts.
- SAM (Sustainability Action Mindset) Talks from clean energy policymakers, experts and rising stars sharing their experiences and latest innovations. These short, impactful presentations will be taking place throughout the event and include a featured presentation from Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick.
- Presentations and Pitches from leading and promising clean energy companies, investors, utilities, and major energy consumers outlining their business needs. Presenters will reach an expected 500+ attendees.
- The Innovation Tour, a self-guided trip around the hub of the New England clean energy industry and a peek into the unique culture of Boston’s close-knit cleantech community. On the tour, you’ll have a chance to visit game-changing start-ups at Greentown Labs and the Cambridge Innovation Center, and tour innovative research centers like the MIT Media Lab, Harvard Innovation Lab, and Fraunhofer CSE.
- Strategic 1:1 Meetups can be scheduled via Pathable – the same state-of-the-art scheduling software used at TED Talk conferences, available to all registered attendees and presenters.
In previous years, the Meet-up generated over $250 million in new venture capital, angel and grant investments for participating startups. The new Meet-up, spun out of the highly successful Global Clean Energy Week, is tangible evidence that the Commonwealth’s global impact in the clean energy space is growing: France, Switzerland, Norway, Japan, Israel, UK, Canada, Chile, Germany, Mexico, and other countries are sending companies and delegations.
While October 15th is only a short while away, there’s still time to get involved as an attendee, or even as a sponsor. For scheduling details, pricing and registration information, please visit the official event site. We look forward to seeing you there!
